Functional training machine combining horizontal and vertical resistance. Designed for multidirectional strength, athletic performance and professional applications in physiotherapy and kinesitherapy.

Functional Training Machine 2KNZ

The Functional Training Machine 2KNZ is a versatile training station for functional training, athletic training and kinesitherapy. Its unique training principle is based on the ability to combine two different resistance directions simultaneously within a single movement – one horizontal and one vertical.

The user can pull or push horizontally while simultaneously combining this movement with a vertical force requirement upward or downward. The resistance acts against the respective movement being performed.

This creates four fundamental movement combinations:

> Pull + press downward
> Push + press downward
> Pull + work upward
> Push + work upward

Based on these combinations, numerous additional movement patterns, body positions and exercise variations can be developed.

Two resistance directions – one movement

The key difference compared with conventional strength machines is that an exercise does not have to be limited to a single direction of resistance.

For example, while the arms pull or push horizontally, the body can simultaneously work against an additional vertical resistance. Both force demands are combined within the same movement.

As a result, the body must not only generate force in different directions, but also control and coordinate these forces while transferring them across multiple body segments.

This enables complex movement patterns and provides numerous exercise variations, particularly for functional and sports-specific training.

Versatile movement and training possibilities

The 2KNZ allows the use of different body positions, movement directions and resistance combinations. Depending on the exercise, controlled strength movements as well as dynamic and sports-specific movement patterns can be performed.

Possible applications include:

  • functional full-body training
  • athletic and performance training
  • combined pulling and pushing movements
  • movements against simultaneous horizontal and vertical resistance
  • acceleration and stepping movements
  • rotational and diagonal movements
  • unilateral and asymmetric training
  • core and stabilization training
  • sports-specific movement patterns

Especially in movements where the upper and lower body must generate and transfer force simultaneously, the combination of two resistance directions provides additional training possibilities.

This can be particularly useful for sports-specific movement patterns involving acceleration, deceleration, changes of direction, stabilization and force transfer between the lower and upper body.

Kinesitherapy and physiotherapy

Thanks to its different resistance directions, freely selectable body positions and versatile movement possibilities, the 2KNZ also offers interesting applications for kinesitherapy, physiotherapy and functionally oriented rehabilitation centers.

Therapists can select movement tasks and apply resistance according to the respective training or therapy objective. Controlled pulling, pushing, stabilization and coordination movements can be integrated alongside more complex functional movement patterns.

Specific applications and load management in therapeutic settings should be supervised by appropriately qualified professionals.
